喙头鳄属（属名：Sphenosuchus）是种喙头鳄亚目动物，化石于20世纪早期发现于南非的艾略特组，该地年代为早侏㑩纪。喙头鳄的头颅骨保存状态良好，但前肢与后肢相关部位的保存状态则没那么好，因此喙头鳄的化石并不完整。喙头鳄可能是四足动物，但在机能上允许二足方式。

喙头鳄是在1972年由英国古生物学家艾力克·沃克（Alick Walker）首次叙述于《自然》杂志上。沃克根据喙头鳄与鸟类的头颅骨，提出鳄形超目与鸟类之间也许有最近共同祖先。沃克在1985年撤回这个假设，但在1990年的论文中再度提出更详尽的假设，并提供了到目前为止最详尽的喙头鳄叙述。

Sphenosuchus is an extinct genus of Crocodylomorpha from the Elliot Formation (Early Jurassic) of South Africa, discovered and described early in the 20th century. The skull is excellently preserved but other than elements of the forelimb and isolated parts of the hind limb, the Sphenosuchus material is incomplete. It was probably quadrupedal, but may have been a facultative biped.
