Yin collapse or yang collapse refers to a critical morbid state due to sudden and excessive loss of yin fluid or yang qi.

Yin collapse is frequently caused by superabundance of pathogenic heat or prolonged retention of pathogenic heat that scorches yin fluid, or by other factors that excessively consumes yin fluid.
