The Principality of Albania (Albanian: Principata e Shqipnis` or Shteti Shqiptar) refers to the Albanian Republic during the short-lived monarchy in Albania that was headed by William, Prince of Albania and to the state after the First World War; the monarchy was abolished in 1925 and a republic declared.
