Potential temperature

位温

位温是指流体从气压为 P、温度为 T（单位 K）的位置绝热抬升或下降至参照气压值 P_{0} 的位置（通常为 1000 hPa）所具有的温度，并以 \theta 表示之。就空气而言，其位温可从下列方程序求得：

\theta = T \left(\frac{P_{0}}{P}\right)^{\frac{R}{c_{p}}}

R 为气体常数、c_{p} 等压比热容。
