碲酸是化学式为Te(OH)₆的化合物。它是弱酸，与强碱反应生成碲酸盐。

碲酸可由碲或二氧化碲被双氧水或三氧化铬氧化制备。

它具有较强的氧化性，但是其氧化反应在动力学上是惰性的，其标准电极电势数据如下：

在稀硫酸介质中，可使溴化氢和碘化氢氧化成单质溴和单质碘，而自身被还原成二氧化碲和碲的混合物；用二氧化硫、锌、亚铁盐、联氨等可把碲酸还原成碲。

偏碲酸，H₂TeO₄，硫酸的同类物，仍属未知。

碲酸和它的盐总是含有六配位的碲。碲酸钡， BaTeO₄，由二氧化碲和过氧化钡反应产生，与钼酸钡为同晶型。

虽然原碲酸的化学式是H₆TeO₆，但它实际上是一个二元酸（K_a1=1.53×10，K_a2=4.7×10）。它通常只有2个氢容易被取代（个别情况下多个氢可以被取代，如Ag₃H₃TeO₆、Zn₃TeO₆）。

Telluric acid is a chemical compound with the formula Te(OH)₆. It is a white solid made up of octahedral Te(OH)₆ molecules which persist in aqueous solution. There are two forms, rhombohedral and monoclinic, and both contain octahedral Te(OH)₆ molecules. Telluric acid is a weak acid which is dibasic, forming tellurate salts with strong bases and hydrogen tellurate salts with weaker bases or upon hydrolysis of tellurates in water.
