马其顿共和国（马其顿语：Република Македонија，拉丁化：Republika Makedonija）是位于东南欧的巴尔干半岛南部的内陆国家，东临保加利亚，北临塞尔维亚，西临阿尔巴尼亚，南临希腊。

原属于南斯拉夫，1945年，创建马其顿人民共和国；后更名马其顿社会主义共和国。隶属于南斯拉夫社会主义联邦共和国。1991年南斯拉夫社会主义联邦共和国解体后获得独立。首都与最大都市是斯科普里。

自独立以来，马其顿由于国名问题和希腊发生争端：希腊反对马其顿共和国使用“马其顿”的名称，故联合国、欧盟与一些国际组织以及世界上部分国家现在将该国称为「前南斯拉夫马其顿共和国」（马其顿语：Поранешна Југословенска Република Македонија, ПЈРМ；拉丁化：Poranešna Jugoslovenska Republika Makedonija, PJRM；英语：the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, FYROM），马其顿共和国以此身分加入联合国。截止2011年12月，有133个国家承认“马其顿共和国”这一名称。国名问题至今仍待解决。

Macedonia (/ˌmæsᵻˈdoʊniə/ mas-i-DOH-nee-ə; Macedonian:Македонија, tr. Makedonija, IPA: [makɛˈdɔnija]), officially the Republic of Macedonia (Macedonian:  Република Македонија , tr. Republika Makedonija), is a country in the Balkan peninsula in Southeast Europe. It is one of the successor states of the former Yugoslavia, from which it declared independence in 1991. It became a member of the United Nations in 1993, but, as a result of an ongoing dispute with Greece over the use of the name Macedonia, was admitted under the provisional description the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (abbreviated as FYROM), a term that is also used by international organizations such as the European Union, the Council of Europe and NATO.
