Maemo是一个基于Debian GNU/Linux的操作系统，由诺基亚公司为了智能型手机及Internet Tablet所开发。它已经被应用在诺基亚N770、N800、N810和N900上。Nokia与很多开源软件项目（如Linux内核，Debian，GNOME）合作，共同开发Maemo平台。Maemo本身基于Debian因此具有很多Debian特性。

很多应用软件来自ARM架构的Debian，大多数是第三方软件。

Maemo是诺基亚的顶级操作系统品牌，用以弥补Symbian OS的某些先天不足。目前Maemo主要是服务于不具备传统移动电话功能的网络终端，以及Nokia N900这样的智能手机。由于其Linux内核的特性，将很容易被移植到笔记本电脑等更多应用的设备上。

Maemo is a software platform developed by Nokia and then handed over to Hildon Foundation for smartphones and Internet tablets. It is based on the Debian GNU/Linux distribution. The platform comprises the Maemo operating system and the Maemo SDK.

Maemo is mostly based on open-source code and has been developed by Maemo Devices within Nokia in collaboration with many open-source projects such as the Linux kernel, Debian, and GNOME. Maemo is based on Debian GNU/Linux and draws much of its GUI, frameworks, and libraries from the GNOME project. It uses the Matchbox window manager and the GTK-based Hildon framework as its GUI and application framework.
