棕酱（brown sauce）。一般用作咸点的调味酱汁，或是作为西式浓汤、炖肉酱汁的一种材料，在主要成分麦醋中添加水果和香料而成，呈深棕色浓稠状。最著名的为HP酱（英文：HP Sauce）是一种源自英国伯明翰阿斯顿（Aston）的调味料品牌。

HP酱由英国诺丁汉的杂货店店东F·G·葛东（F. G. Garton）研制而成。葛东于1903年开始贩卖HP酱，名字源于他听闻英国国会（Houses of Parliament，起首字母为HP）的一家餐厅使用了他研制的酱汁。葛东其后把秘方和HP酱品牌售予艾德云·森逊·摩亚（Edwin Samson Moore），售价为150英镑和葛东的一些债务。

HP Sauce is a brown sauce originally produced by HP Foods in the United Kingdom, now produced by the H. J. Heinz Company in the Netherlands. It was named after the Houses of Parliament. It was the best-selling brand of brown sauce in the UK in 2005, with 73.8% of the retail market. HP Sauce has a malt vinegar base, blended with tomato, dates, tamarind extract, sweetener and spices. It usually is used as a condiment with hot or cold savoury food, or as an ingredient in soups or stews.
