阿诺德·索末菲 （Arnold Sommerfeld, 1868年12月5日－1951年4月26日），全名Arnold Johannes Wilhelm Sommerfeld，是一位德国物理学家，量子力学与原子物理学的开山始祖之一。他发现了精细结构常数，一个关于电磁相互作用的很重要的常数。他也是一位杰出的老师，教导和培养了很多优秀的理论物理学家。

索末菲是目前为止教导过最多诺贝尔物理学奖得主的人，他首先提出第二量子数（角量子数）和第四量子数（自旋量子数），并且提出精细结构常数和开创了X射线波动理论。

Arnold Johannes Wilhelm Sommerfeld, ForMemRS (5 December 1868 – 26 April 1951) was a German theoretical physicist who pioneered developments in atomic and quantum physics, and also educated and mentored a large number of students for the new era of theoretical physics. He served as PhD supervisor for many Nobel Prize winners in physics and chemistry (his record of mentorship is comparable only to that of J. J. Thomson).
