有机金属化学中的有机铜化合物，是指含有碳与铜键结的化学键的有机物。

有机铜化学是一门描述有机铜化合物相关的物理特性、合成以及反应的学科。 在有机化学中它们通常为反应物。

在1859年由Rudolf Christian Böttger合成出第一个有机铜化合物，是有爆炸性的乙炔铜 Cu₂C₂ (Cu-C≡C-Cu)，借由将乙炔气体过入氯化铜溶液中得之。

1936年Henry Gilman制备甲基铜。1941年时，Kharash发现在有铜(I)的反应下，格氏试剂(Grignard reagents)与环己烯酮会产生1,4-加成反应，而不是1,2-加成反应。1952年Gilman研究出第一个二甲基铜(dialkylcuprates)。1960年代，创建了烯烃和CO与铜(I)复合物。
