Archaeologists Armand Mijares found the bones in a cave in small Philippine Islands and says they are between fifty and sixty seven thousand years old.
Mijares also doesn't know what ultimately happened to the species, but says the arrival of the larger, more robust humans may have led to its extinction.
Mijares is a municipality located in the province of Ávila, Castile and León, Spain. According to the 2004 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 904 inhabitants.
