文莱元（单位：元），是文莱的法定流通货币。标志为B$。文莱元的汇率与新加坡元挂钩，兑换价是1比1。

在20世纪早期，作为英国受保护领地，文莱先后使用海峡殖民地货币(Straits dollar)及马来西亚元。自马来西亚及新加坡独立后，1967年文莱开始发行自己货币。在新加坡，文莱元可以在当地使用，即使其没有法定地位。同样，新加坡元在文莱广泛使用。
