Pepernoot

A pepernoot (Dutch pronunciation:['peːpərnoːt]; plural: pepernoten ['peːpərnoːtə]; literally, "pepper nuts", is a Dutch or Belgian cookie-like kind of confectionery, traditionally associated with the early December Sinterklaas holiday in the Netherlands and Belgium. The ingredients have some similarities with German Pfeffernüsse although they look completely different.
