A copper IUD (ATC G02BA(WHO)) (also intrauterine device, IUD, copper-T, or coil) is a type of intrauterine device. The copper IUD is a type of long-acting reversible contraception and is one of the most effective forms of birth control.
It is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines, the most important medication needed in a basic health system.
