巡逻艇（英文：Patrol boat）是以重机枪为主要武器，用于近海作战的小型战斗舰艇。可担负巡逻、警戒、布雷等任务。许多国家甚至不以配备于军队，而是准军事的海岸巡逻队或警察，用于查缉的日常勤务。

巡逻艇吨位小，航速高，机动灵活，排水量通常为数十吨至数百吨，航行速度30到40节，有的可达50节，续航能力500－3000海里。有些快艇还加装20至76毫米口径舰炮，吨位较大的快艇还可能包含水雷及深水炸弹等。搭配的传感系统有搜索、探测、武器控制、通信导航、电子作战等。

A patrol boat is a relatively small naval vessel generally designed for coastal defense duties. There have been many designs for patrol boats. They may be operated by a nation's navy, coast guard, police force or customs and may be intended for marine (blue water) and/or estuarine or river ("brown water") environments. They are commonly found engaged in various border protection roles, including anti-smuggling, anti-piracy, fisheries patrols, and immigration law enforcement. They are also often called upon to participate in rescue operations. Vessels of this type include the original yacht (from Dutch/Low German jacht meaning hunting or hunt), a light, fast-sailing vessel used by the Dutch navy to pursue pirates and other transgressors around and into shallow waters.
