The Pawnee (Also called "Pani" or "Paneassa") are a Native American tribe from the Great plains whose territory consisted of Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and northern Texas. They are federally recognized as the Pawnee nation, now headquartered in Pawnee county,Oklahoma. The tribal nation has four confederated bands: the Chaui, Kitkehakhi, Pitaharuet and Skiri.
