樟脑，IUPAC名称1,7,7-三甲基二环[2.2.1]庚烷-2-酮，是一种萜类有机化合物，室温下为白色或透明的蜡状固体，可用于驱虫。

樟脑提炼自樟树干中，树龄越老的的樟树所富含樟脑比例越多。提炼方法为将树干切成小块用水蒸馏，樟脑油受热后随着水蒸汽上升，在接触到预先放置在上方的陶缸冷却后便可形成樟脑。

**早期北部山林多为原始樟树林，老樟树树龄千年以上者甚多，因此，**樟脑输出量曾达世界首位，有“樟脑王国”之称。

现在世界上使用的樟脑丸多是由化学方式合成。

Camphor (/ˈkæmfər/) is a waxy, flammable, white or transparent solid with a strong aromatic odor. It is a terpenoid with the chemical formula C₁₀H₁₆O. It is found in the wood of the camphor laurel (Cinnamomum camphora), a large evergreen tree found in Asia (particularly in Sumatra, Indonesia and Borneo) and also of the unrelated kapur tree, a tall timber tree from the same region. It also occurs in some other related trees in the laurel family, notably Ocotea usambarensis. Dried rosemary leaves (Rosmarinus officinalis), in the mint family, contain up to 20% camphor, while camphorweed (Heterotheca) only contains some 5%. Camphor can also be synthetically produced from oil of turpentine. It is used for its scent, as an ingredient in cooking (mainly in India), as an embalming fluid, for medicinal purposes, and in religious ceremonies. A major source of camphor in Asia is camphor basil (the parent of African blue basil).
