孔径角

一个透镜的孔径角是从焦点朝着透镜望去，孔径所占的角度 a\,\! ：

a = 2\arctan\left( \frac{D}{2f}\right)\,\! ；

其中，f\,\! 是焦距，D\,\! 是孔径的直径。

在一个折射率接近 1 的介质里，像在空气里，孔径角大约是透镜的数值孔径 (numerical aperture) 的两倍。

在空气里，数值孔径 \mathrm{NA}\,\! 是：

\mathrm{NA} = \sin a/2 = \sin \arctan \left( \frac {D} {2 f} \right)\,\! 。

假设小孔径， D<f\,\! ，用傍轴近似 (paraxial approximation) ，可以得到

\mathrm{NA} \approx a/2\,\! 。
