UVD全写为Unified Video Decoder，中文译成通用视频解码器，是AVIVO HD中的其中一项技术。从HD 2400、HD 2600和HD 3000系列集成了这个解码器，高端的HD 2900XT反而没有集成。最近，AMD的780G集成式芯片组亦集成了UVD。利用UVD引擎，显卡就能完全硬件解码H.264和VC-1格式的高清影片，分别为Blu-ray Disc和HD-DVD的编码。

原先ATI企图将UVD技术内置在Radeon X1 Series的显示核心中，成为新的显核（RV550），推进主流市场，并于2006年12月推出。但后来却无了下文。

Unified Video Decoder (UVD), previously called Universal Video Decoder, is the name given to AMD's dedicated video decoding ASIC. There are multiple versions implementing a multitude of video codecs, such as H.264 and VC-1.

UVD was introduced with the Radeon HD 2000 Series and is integrated into some of the AMD GPUs and APUs. UVD occupies a considerable amount of the die surface and is not to be confused with AMD's Video Coding Engine (VCE).
