Tshopo District 乔波省
Tshopo District is a district located in Orientale Province, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
It is situated in the northeast of the country on the Tshopo River, for which it is named.
Tshopo is one of 25 proposed provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo specified in the country's 2006 Constitution, due to take effect no later than February 2009.
The province was to be formed from Tshopo District and the city of Kisangani, which would be the capital.
As of October 2010, this had not taken place.
