ALGOL W，一种编程语言，为ALGOL家族的一份子。它基于尼克劳斯·维尔特与东尼·霍尔在IFIP Working Group 2.1提出的ALGOL X草案而设计，希望能作为ALGOL 60的后继者。经过小幅度的修改，在史丹福大学，尼克劳斯·维尔特利用IBM/360机器，实作出第一版的ALGOL W。

ALGOL W is a programming language. It was based on a proposal for ALGOL X by Niklaus Wirth and Tony Hoare as a successor to ALGOL 60 in IFIP Working Group 2.1. When the committee decided that the proposal was not a sufficient advance over ALGOL 60, the proposal was published as A contribution to the development of ALGOL. After making small modifications to the language Wirth supervised a high quality implementation for the IBM/360 at Stanford University that was widely distributed.
