相扑是日本传统的体术，由两名力士裸露上身，互相角力。由神道的神事发展而成，作为专业竞技项目，则称为大相扑。相扑是日本的国技和国际性的武术、格斗和体育运动。

Sumo (相撲sumō) is a competitive full-contact wrestling sport where a rikishi (wrestler) attempts to force another wrestler out of a circular ring (dohyō) or into touching the ground with anything other than the soles of his feet. The characters, 相撲 literally mean "striking one another".
