Screamo（为了与Emo区分而有译作嚎叫情绪）是一种硬蕊庞克（Hardcore punk）的子类型，大多承袭于Emo这种音乐类型，与其他在1990年代的音乐。「Screamo」这个词源先是用在1991年发展于美国圣地牙哥一些比较激进的Emo乐团，他们利用曲长较短的创作，结合抽搐般的强度来刻意实验出不和谐与力度变化。

说起Screamo就不得不提到Emo，虽然大多数Screamo乐队很反感外界对他们的身世探究，而且一直可以在音乐和感情上与Emo保持着相当的距离。但是，他们无法消除Emo在他们的音乐中烙下的“胎记”，以至于他们永远无法摆脱令他们深恶痛绝的卑贱血统和“私生子”身份。

Screamo (also known as skramz) is a subgenre of emo that evolved in the early 1990s as a more aggressive offshoot of the genre using short songs that grafted "intensity to willfully experimental dissonance and dynamics." It is characterised by a stronger influence from hardcore punk and the use of screamed vocals. Lyrical themes might include emotional pain, romantic interest, politics, and human rights.
