音频工程师（Audio engineer）是指工作涉及录音（recording）、调整（manipulation）、混音（mixing）以及声音再制（reproduction of sound）的人士。许多音频工程师创造性的运用科技来为电影、无线电、电视、音乐、电子产品与电脑游戏创作声音。另外，音频工程师能够被称为科学家或工程师（工业工程方面）他们是在声学工程（acoustical engineering）领域中进行开发新的音频科技工作。

音频工程涉及创造与包括语音和音乐实际层面的声音处理，以及新的音频技术开发和推进可听声波的科学认识。

An audio engineer works on the recording, manipulation using equalization and electronic effects, mixing, reproduction, and reinforcement of sound. Many audio engineers creatively use technologies to produce sound for film, radio, television, music, electronic products and computer games. Audio engineers also set up, sound check and do live sound mixing using an audio console and a sound reinforcement system for music concerts, theatre, sports games and corporate events.
