Ochsenfurt is a town in the district of Würzburg, in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated on the left bank of the River Main, here crossed by a stone bridge, 21 kilometres (13mi) south from Würzburg by the railway to Munich, and at the junction of a line to Röttingen. Ochsenfurt has a population of about 11,000. Like Oxford, the town of Ochsenfurt is named after a ford where oxen crossed the river.
