Milad

Milād (Persian:ميلاد‎‎, derived from "Mithradāt/Mihrdād" and meaning "gift of Mithra" or "gift of sun") is a Persian male given name. It is mentioned as the name of a hero in Iranian epic book Shahnameh.

The name is cognate with Mehrdad and is its standard form in the classic Persian literature.
