甲二醇，又称一水甲醛，是一种有机化合物，化学式为 CH₂(OH)₂。它是最简单的̣偕二醇，从形式上来说也是除甲醛外最简单的糖。

甲二醇是甲醛(H₂C=O)的水合物。在甲醛的水溶液中，甲二醇大量存在，其平衡常数达到10。 在质量分数为5%的甲醛溶液中，80%的溶质都是以甲二醇的形式存在的。

甲二醇是“Brazilian blowout”（一种销售于美国的直发剂）的主要成分之一。它与甲醛的化学平衡引起了一些人的忧虑，因为直发剂中的甲醛可能造成健康隐患。

该化合物与天体化学也有一定联系。

Methanediol, also known as formaldehyde monohydrate or methylene glycol, is an organic compound with chemical formula CH₂(OH)₂. It is the simplest geminal diol, and formally the second simplest carbohydrate (after formaldehyde).

Methanediol is a product of the hydration of formaldehyde H₂C=O, and predominates in water solution: the equilibrium constant being about 10, and in a 5% by weight solution of formaldehyde in water, 80% is in the methanediol form.
