Sam & Cat is an American sitcom that originally aired on Nickelodeon from June 8, 2013 to July 17, 2014. It is a crossover/spin-off and sequel of both iCarly and Victorious, starring Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande as Sam Puckett and Cat Valentine respectively. The series is based on both these girls as they buddy up as roommates and start a babysitting business to fund their adventures. In March 2014, sources at Nickelodeon differed over whether Sam & Cat would be renewed for a second season, but on July 2, 2014, a promotional video on Nickelodeon stated that there were two episodes left, and on July 13, Nickelodeon announced that Sam & Cat was officially cancelled after just one season.
