线密度也称为纤度，是指一物体单位长度下的质量，可用来描述线或是其他一维物体的密度。一般会用（或λ）来表示。国际单位制下线密度的单位为公斤每公尺，国际符号为kg/m。一个一维物体的线密度定义如下：
