一般均衡是经济学中局部均衡概念的扩展。在一个一般均衡的市场中，每个单独的市场都是局部均衡的。

一般均衡理论既以均衡价格模型研究经济，也寻找其假设条件成立的情况。该理论可追溯到19世纪70年代，特别是法国经济学家瓦尔拉斯（Léon Walras）在1874年的先驱性著作「纯粹经济学的要素」。
