Gastrosexuality

Gastrosexuality is a neologism derived from gastronomy and sexuality. The term is used to describe men who cook, to impress friends and prospective male and female partners.

The rise of the term is related to the rise of iconic celebrity chefs like Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay whose British TV series are hugely popular and inspirational for a growing number of men to see cooking as a great hobby, making Oliver and Ramsay great role models for gastrosexuals as an acceptable macho practice, rather than a more feminine or effeminate culture.
