围巾是围在头部、颈部和肩部的布料，包裹头部的围巾又称为头巾，单独包裹肩部的又可称为披巾。通常于保暖，也可因美观、清洁或是宗教而穿戴。

围巾可用羊绒，羊毛，真丝、晴纶、蚕丝等材料制成。在气候寒冷的地方，人们会穿戴用羊毛编织的厚围巾来保暖。在气候干燥、多尘或是空气污染严重的地方，人们可以将一条轻薄的围巾包着头部，以保持头发清洁。随着时间发展，这种习惯成为了不少文化中女性的潮流服饰。阿拉伯头巾亦是阿拉伯地区标志性服饰。

一些宗教，如伊斯兰教，教义要求女性穆斯林穿戴朴素低调，其中女穆斯林会穿戴俗称حجاب‎（hijab）、正称是خمار‎（khimar）的头巾。锡克人的头巾亦是他们著名的标志。

A shawl (from Persian:شال‎‎ shāl, ultimately from Sanskrit: शाटी śāṭī) is a simple item of clothing, loosely worn over the shoulders, upper body and arms, and sometimes also over the head. It is usually a rectangular or square piece of cloth, that is often folded to make a triangle but can also be triangular in shape. Other shapes include oblong shawls.
