Courken George Deukmejian, Jr. (/djuːkˈmeɪdʒən/; born June 6, 1928) is an American politician who was the 35th Governor of California from 1983 to 1991 and California Attorney General from 1979 to 1983. Deukmejian was the first and so far the only governor of a US state of Armenian descent.
